Hearing aid batteries contain toxic material (such as lead and mercury) which can contaminate underground water sources and can be hazardous to wildlife. Because batteries are an essential part of the hearing aid industry, Davidson Hearing Aid Centres started a recycle program a few years ago. By recycling old batteries we are able to control the way we dispose of the toxic material and can prevent the contamination of the ecosystem.
