Hearing Instrument Specialist

Born and raised in Athens, Amy has deep roots in the local community. After attending public school in Frankville and graduating from Athens District High School, Amy pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at York University. A passion for helping others led to further studies in Autism and Behavioural Sciences at St. Lawrence College. Eventually, this path intersected with the world of hearing care, prompting her to complete the Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) program at Grant MacEwan University in 2016.

Amy’s journey into hearing care began through a chance connection at Dr. Robertson’s office in Brockville, where a conversation with Murray from Davidson Hearing Aid Centres opened the door to a new and rewarding career. Starting at the front of the office, she quickly became a vital part of the team, inspired and encouraged by Robbie and Murray to take the next step into the HIS program. Now, after 10 fulfilling years with Davidson’s, Amy couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

As a Hearing Instrument Specialist, Amy works one-on-one with clients, providing intake services, conducting hearing tests, offering personalized counselling, and fitting and maintaining hearing devices. Passionate about building connections, Amy loves meeting new people and helping them discover the life-changing benefits of hearing technology. Witnessing clients experience improved hearing—especially with the latest advancements—is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.

Outside of work, Amy is a devoted parent to three active children. Winters are packed with hockey games and figure skating, while summers are spent unwinding at the family cottage on Lower Beverly Lake—soaking up sunshine and making the most of every moment outdoors.
